General Education
Some students come to Mid-America without a clear picture of their future academic plans. Others come with a clear vocational choice in mind - ministry, teacher education or one of the other strong programs the University offers. Either way, in the School of General Education you will encounter an exciting variety of course opportunities available at Mid-America Christian University.
Program Highlights:
- Biblical components consistent with the Christian emphasis of the University are found in the humanities, social and natural sciences, fine arts, and our other general education courses.
- Students who are undecided about a four-year degree may choose the Associate in Arts Degree. This two year program provides the general education foundation necessary in most four-year programs.
- General education courses will easily transfer to a four-year degree program at Mid-America Christian University and to other regionally accredited colleges and universities.
- For those with a clear vision of their vocational future, a liberal arts education is indispensable. Courses are chosen to develop graduates who are trained to follow a career path and are educated in the classical sense with a strong Christian component.
Whether it is helping the student choose a major, directing them toward the proper configuration of classes, or offering opportunities for growth in campus organizations. The General Education program is eager to assist in leading the way toward one’s lifelong goals.
