Mathematics
The purpose of the Mathematics Program is to prepare mathematicians for later work in teaching, applied mathematics, research or in further study on the graduate level.
Program Objectives
- To help the student to develop an understanding of the nature of mathematics and it’s relation to the sciences, philosophy and other liberal arts.
- To employ appropriate research methods in exploring mathematical skills and their use in problem solving.
- To apply mathematical problem-solving skills to a variety of real-world problems
- To equip students with the ability and knowledge needed to make a lasting contribution to our society.
- To help students to develop a personal philosophy of life within a framework of Christian principles.
- To provide students with a sound foundation for graduate studies in mathematics.
