Oklahoma City- The Mid-America Christian University
Lady Evangels are picked to finish twelfth in the Sooner
Athletic Conference pre-season coaches poll, receiving
14 total points.
"The coaches
do not expect us to compete, which is evident by the
poll," Coach Lind said. "I understand, we
are new and people do not know us that well."
The Sooner Athletic
Conference is deemed the toughest basketball conference
in the NAIA, with ten of the last thirteen National
Champions coming from the SAC.
"I believe
that we have the players to make a run in the SAC,"
Coach Lind said in the SAC press conference on Wednesday.
"We are coming from a division where we were a
powerhouse and now we are the new guy. I believe that
our returning players understand that and our newcomers
are ready for the challenge."
The Lady Evangels
joined the SAC in the winter of 2006, just a few months
