MACU loses to Rogers State

10/23/07 Oklahoma City- The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels lost to Rogers State University Monday, Oct. 22. Rogers State defeated MACU 2-5.

The Lady Evangels defense struggled in the first half, giving up four first half goals.

"Our defense definitely struggled in the first half," Coach Bice said. "They found the holes in our defense and took advantage of the opportunities."

In the second half, MACU played much better defense, letting up just one goal. The offense began to come alive as well and scored two goals, but they could not recover from the first half.

Lauren Patrick and Lindsey McKinney scored a goal a piece for the Lady Evangels.

MACU finished the regular season at 12-5 and will look to make some noise in the NCCAA Division I Central Region Tournament.

The Regional Tournament is November 2-3, the location of the tournament is still uncertain.

MACU Wins Home Finale

10/6/07 Oklahoma City- Mid-America Christian University won the last home game of the season against Wayland Baptist University Saturday, Oct. 6. The Lady Evangels defeated Wayland 4-1.

MACU used a big second half to defeat Wayland by scoring three goals.

Wayland picked up their lone goal of the day in the first half and they were tied with MACU at halftime.

Lindsey McKinney scored two goals for the Lady Evangels.

Laci Ruppel had a great game with a goal and two assists.

Lauren Patrick scored an unassisted goal, while Rachel Scott picked up an assist on the Ruppel goal.

The Lady Evangels have won four straight games and have won nine out of their last ten games.

"We have had an incredible season," Coach Bice said. "We are headed in the right direction."

MACU is undefeated in Sooner Athletic Conference play, going 3-0. The MACU soccer program will join the SAC next year.

The Lady Evangels continue to win with defense, giving up just two goals in the four game winning streak.

The Lady Evangels improved to 12-4.

MACU will travel to Claremoore, Okla. Monday, Oct. 22 and play Rogers State University. Game time is set for 5:00.

MACU Wins Third Straight

10/3/07 Dallas, Texas- The Lady Evangels won their third straight game Tuesday, Oct. 2. MACU defeated Dallas Christian College 9-0.

MACU has won nine out of their last ten games.

The Lady Evangels recorded their second straight shut-out and their seventh shut-out of the season.

MACU has given up just seventeen goals this year, which is sixth among NCCAA Division I schools.

"Our defense continues to get the job done every game," Coach Bice said.

The offense leads the nation in scoring with 4.86 goals per game.

MACU scored all of their goals in the first half and cruised to the victory.

MACU had a balanced scoring attack with eight Lady Evangels scoring goals.

Christina Black led the Lady Evangels with two goals. Emily Lyon, Azia Maxwell, Lindsey McKinney, Kelsey Morris, Laci Ruppel, Bailey Williams, and Jena Vega rounded out the Lady Evangel scoring.

Sara Murphy, Kaylynn Pursley, Rachel Scott, Maxwell, McKinney, Williams, and Vega contributed assists.

MACU improved to 11-4.

The Lady Evangels will host Wayland Baptist University Saturday, Oct. 6 at 1:00.

MACU Defeats York

9/29/07 Oklahoma City- Mid-America Christian University defeated York College Saturday, Sept. 29. MACU defeated York 3-0.

The Lady Evangels have won seven out of their last eight games.

"Our defense came up big," Coach Bice stated. "We have played excellent defense all year long."

MACU's defense recorded their sixth shut-out of theseason.

The first half was scoreless until Brittney Foos scored from a Bailey Williams assist.

The Lady Evangels went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.

MACU dominated the second half, scoring two goals and holding York without a shot.

Lindsey McKinney picked up an insurance goal mid-way through the second half. Laci Ruppel picked up the assist.

Lauren Patrick put the game out of reach when she scored off of a Ruppel assist.

MACU had 12 shots on goal and held York to 0 shots on goal.

The Lady Evangels are 10-4.

MACU will travel to Dallas Christian College Tuesday, October 2. Game time is set for 3:00.

MACU Dominates CBC

9/28/07 Oklahoma City- The Lady Evangels dominated Central Baptist College Friday, Sept. 28. MACU defeated CBC 9-1.

"We came out fired up and ready to play," Coach Bice said. "We played a solid offensive game."

The Lady Evangels dominated from the beginning, scoring seven goals in the first half.

CBC was able to gather a goal in the first half, but that would be the only CBC goal. The Lady Evangels held CBC scoreless most of the first half and the entire second half.

"Our defense has been good for us all year," Coach Bice said. "I thought we responded well after the loss to Bacone."

MACU went into the locker room up 7-1 and scored two more goals in the second half to complete the 9-1 route.

Laci Ruppel dominated the CBC defense by scoring four goals. Lindsey McKinney had another solid game with three goals and an assist.

Jena Vega and Christina Black scored a goal each.

Bailey Williams had three assists, while Jocelyn Mehlhaff had two assists.

Brittany Foos, Rachel Scott, and Tiffany Ramirez contributed an assist a piece.

The Lady Evangels improve to 9-4.

MACU will host York College Saturday, Sept. 29 at 11:00.

MACU Streak Ends

9/25/07 Oklahoma City- The Lady Evangels had their four game winning streak snapped Tuesday, Sept. 25 by Bacone. Bacone defeated MACU 1-5.

Bacone scored early on the Lady Evangels and quickly took a 0-3 lead.

"We did not start out playing well," Coach Bice said. "Our defense let us down a little bit."

Bacone took that 0-3 lead into the locker room at half.

MACU picked up their defense in the second half, but the offense struggled.

"We had some opportunities, especially in the second half, but we could not capitalize," Coach Bice commented.

Lauren Patrick scored the only Lady Evangel goal mid-way through the second half and cut the lead 1-3.

Bacone would quickly answer with two more goals and put the game out of reach for the Lady Evangels.

Laci Ruppel had the lone assist for the Lady Evangels.

The Lady Evangels fall to 8-4.

MACU will host Central Baptist College Friday, Sept. 28 at 2:00.

MACU Cruises Past Ozark

9/24/07 Oklahoma City- Mid-America Christian University cruised past Ozark Christian College Monday, Sept. 24. MACU defeated Ozark 13-0.

"Our defense continues to be our best game," Coach Bice said.

MACU won their fifth straight game and their sixth out of seven.

MACU has out scored their opponents 44-1 during the winning streak.

The Lady Evangels left no doubt from the beginning as they pounced on Ozark early.

"It was important to get off to a fast start and not build up Ozark's confidence," Coach Bice said.

The Lady Evangels led at halftime 6-0 and scored seven second half goals.

Jocelyn Mehlhaff and Laci Ruppel both scored hat tricks, while Lindsey McKinney scored two goals.

Brittney Foos, Lauren Patrick, Kaylynn Pursley, Tiffany Ramirez, and Bailey Williams scored a goal a piece.

Williams had four assists and Ruppel contributed three assists.

Christina Black, Azia Maxwell, Tara Taylor, McKinney, and Patrick each picked up assists.

MACU had 30 shots on goal compared to Ozark's two shots on goal.

The Lady Evangels improved to 8-3.

MACU will host Bacone College Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 3:00.

MACU Stretches Winning Streak

9/24/07 Oklahoma City- Mid-America Christian University stretched their winning streak Thursday, Sept. 20. MACU continued their winning streak by defeating St. Gregory's University 3-0.

MACU has won four straight games.

"We played incredible defense against St. Gregory's," Coach Bice said. "We have been playing good defense all year."

The first half was a defensive struggle, with both defenses making big defensive plays.

Brittney Foos was able to find the back of the goal late in the first half and gave the Lady Evangels a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

Rachel Scott added a key insurance goal, off of a free kick, early in the second half and put the Lady Evangels up 2-0.

Azia Maxwell scored another MACU goal off of a corner kick and gave the Lady Evangels a 3-0 lead.

MACU's defense held St. Gregory's scoreless and Emily Lyon recorded her fourth shut-out of the season.

MACU is 7-3 on the season.

MACU will host Ozark Christian College Monday, Sept. 24 at 3:00.

MACU Continues to Win

9/14/07 Winfield, KS- Mid-America Christian University continued their winning streak Thursday, September 13 against Southwestern College. The Lady Evangels defeated Southwestern 4-1.

"We are playing well right now, Coach Bice said. "We are playing hard and doing what it takes to be a winning program."

MACU has won their last three games and four out of their last five.

The Lady Evangels dominated Southwestern from the beginning, scoring two goals each half.

Lindsey McKinney scored the first two goals for the Lady Evangels, with both of them assisted by Bailey Williams.

McKinney helped the Lady Evangels to a 2-1 halftime lead.

Laci Ruppel put the game out of reach in the second half with two goals. McKinney and Kaylynn Purlsey picked up the assists.

MACU held Southwestern to three shots, while the Lady Evangels had nine shots on goal.

Emily Lyon and Jennifer Walker picked up a save each.

The Lady Evangels improved to 6-3.

MACU will host St. Gregory's University Thursday, September 20. Game time is set for 2:00.

MACU Dominates Dallas Christian

9/12/07 Oklahoma City- The Lady Evangels played Dallas Christian College Tuesday, September 11. MACU scored a team record 18 goals and dominated Dallas Christian 18-0.

"We played a good game," Coach Bice said. "We need to get ready for Southwestern College now."

The Lady Evangels controlled the ball throughout the entire game.


Dallas Christian had two shots on goal compared to MACU's forty shots on goal.

"We controlled the ball and that was important," Coach Bice said.

Tiffany Ramirez, Laci Ruppel, Lindsey McKinney, and Bailey Williams contributed two goals a piece.

Julie Ward, Jena Vega, Melanie Singleton, Kelsey Morris, Sara Murphy, Lori Bice, Azia Maxwell, Kaylynn Pursley, Rachel Scott, and Emily Lyon score a goal each to complete the Lady Evangels scoring.

Lauren Patrick, Tara Taylor, Lyon, McKinney, Morris, and Pursley all had one assist, while Williams contributed three assists.

"The scoring was balanced and that is good no matter how big the win," Coach Bice said.

The Lady Evangels improved to 5-3.

MACU will travel to Southwestern College in Winfield, KS Thursday, September 13.

Game time is 5:00.

MACU Edges Wayland Baptist

9/5/07 Plainview, TX- The Lady Evangels battled Wayland Baptist University Tuesday, September 4. MACU won 3-2 thanks to a late goal by Christina Black.

"It was a great win for our program," Coach Bice said. "We are playing really good soccer right now."

Brittany Foos led the Lady Evangels early, scoring two goals in the first half, while Lady Evangel goalie Emily Lyon held Wayland Baptist scoreless.

"I was pleased with the way we played in the first half," Coach Bice said.

Wayland Baptist came out in the second half and scored a goal early to cut the lead, 1-2.

The game was back and forth, with both teams playing exceptionally hard.

Wayland Baptist was able to tie the game with less than ten minutes remaining.

However, MACU's Black scored the winning goal with less than three minutes remaining.

"The girls showed tremendous heart down the stretch," Coach Bice said.

Lyon had 8 saves and assisted the game winning goal. Bailey Williams and Laci Ruppel picked up the other two assists.

The Lady Evangels improved to 3-2.

MACU will travel to Texas this weekend to play Southwest Assemblies of God University and Texas Wesleyan. The Lady Evangels will play SAGU Friday and Texas Wesleyan Saturday.

Lady Evangels Split on Road Trip

9/4/07 Bethany, KS- The Lady Evangels traveled to Kansas last weekend to play Bethany College and Central Christian College. MACU defeated Bethany 4-0 on Friday, but fell to Central Christian 0-1 on Saturday.

"It was good weekend overall," Coach Bice stated. "We had our chances on Saturday, but we could not get the ball in the net."

On Friday, the Lady Evangels played Bethany College, dominating them from start to finish.

MACU out shot Bethany 24-5 in the win.

"We were able to take control early and that was important," Coach Bice said.

Lindsey McKinney and Jocelyn Mehlhaff scored a goal each, while Tiffany Ramirez scored two goals.

Laci Ruppel and Christina Black added an assist each, while Bailey Williams added two assists.

On Saturday, the Lady Evangels battled Central Christian College.

MACU continued to dominate their opponents on the shot chart.

"We are doing a good job keeping the ball on our end of the field, but we are not capitalizing," Coach Bice said.

The Lady Evangels out shot Central Christian 25-3.

Central Christian scored a goal in the second half and defeated the Lady Evangels, 0-1.

The Lady Evangels have an overall record of 2-2.

MACU will play Wayland Baptist on the road, Tuesday September 4.

Lady Evangels Win First Game in School History

8/29/07 Oklahoma City- The Lady Evangels hosted Oklahoma Wesleyan yesterday, August 28 and claimed the first women's soccer win in MACU history. MACU beat OWU 3-1.

"It feels good to get that first win under your belt," Coach Bice said. "It is really good for our program."

The Lady Evangels dominated the game from start to finish.

MACU out shot OWU 20-4 in the win.

Oklahoma Wesleyan scored early in the first half thanks to a goal by Kat Jones.

MACU's Lindsey McKinney answered with one of her two goals a couple of minutes later to tie the game.

"I was glad to see that we responded right away," Coach Bice stated.

McKinney scored her second goal of the game right before the end of the half to give the Lady Evangels a 2-1 halftime lead.

In the second half, the Lady Evangels looked to hold on to their lead and score an important insurance goal.

The Lady Evangels continued to keep the possession and the ball on OWU side.

Christina Black scored MACU's insurance goal mid-way through the second half, stretching the lead 3-1.

"Tiffany scored a huge goal," Coach Bice said. "It gave us a little room for error."

The Lady Evangels would not need that room as they picked up the first win in the history of MACU women's soccer.

Lauren Patrick, Christina Black, and Ramirez picked up assists in the win.

The Lady Evangels improve to 1-1.

MACU will take a weekend trip Kansas Friday and Saturday, Aug 31- Sep 1. MACU will play Bethany College and Central Christian College.

Lady Evangels Struggle in Second Half

8/24/07 Ada, OK- The Lady Evangels battled East Central University, Aug 23, in the first game of the season. The Lady Evangels were looking for their first win of the new program.

"We played well in the first half," Coach Bice said. "We struggled on making good of our opportunities in the first half."

 

East Central scored two goals early to take an early 2-0 lead

After East Central scored their second goal the Lady Evangels answered right back 16 seconds later. Lindsey McKinney scored off of a Christina Black assist that made the game 1-2.

East Central would score a goal late in the first half and the Lady Evangels found themselves in a hole at halftime.

The Lady Evangels came out of the locker room trying to get back into the game and pick up the first win in MACU womens soccer.

However, East Central held up their defense and scored two more goals to put the game out of reach. The Lady Evangels fell 1-5.

The Lady Evangels are 0-1 on the season.

MACU will host Oklahoma Wesleyan Tuesday, Aug 28. Game time is set for 3:00.

Lady Evangels Kick off Season Today

8/23/07 Oklahoma City-The Lady Evangels will begin their fourth year and second full season of play today, on the road against East Central University.

MACU is going into the season more experienced and better equipped than last year.

"We will definitely be better this year," Coach Zac Bice said.


MACU played University of Science and Arts in an exhibition game Tuesday, August 21 and lost 1-3.

"I thought we played well," Bice stated. "We have improved dramatically from last year."

Coach Bice will look for leadership from the returners, as he brings in 18 new players to his 24 man roster. Coach Bice brought in four transfers and 16 freshman.

"We have alot of freshman that are new to the college level, but I think that the leadership of the returners and transfers will help," Bice stated.

MACU will play at 5:00.

MACU joined the NAIA last September.
