Conference, New Attitude

City- It is a new era for Mid-America Softball. The
Lady Evangels begin play this year as a part of the
Sooner Athletic Conference.
The SAC is one
of the toughest softball conference in the country in
the NAIA.
"We are
excited to be a part of such a great conference,"
MACU Head Women's Softball Coach Jerald Lewis said.
"We have the talent to be competitive right away."
Coach Lewis is
recruiting the right way, bringing in quality student
athletes with character, integrity, a strong work ethic,
and talent.
The Lady Evangels
are young with only two seniors and three juniors.
The fall season
started in early September, with each day beginning
with conditioning at 6:00 in the morning.
"The
girls had a great attitude," Coach Lewis said.
The Lady Evangels
have a busy fall schedule, playing four games against
quality opponents.
MACU will travel
to USAO on September 18th, Cameron University on the
22nd, Southwestern Oklahoma State on October 2nd and
finish up at Rose State on October 9th.
"It is a
tough schedule, but that is what we need in order to
improve," Coach Lewis said.
