Behavioral Science

Helping People

MACU's Behavioral Science and Ethics program gives you the skills and knowledge you need for a career of service in many venues. MACU's accelerated program offers training to provide customer service, social services, or to work in a human resources position. An MACU behavioral science degree trains people to be valuable employees in educational, social, governmental or even medical agencies. This degree provides a solid background to pursue a professional counseling license. The behavioral science program also allows students to pursue a master's degree for increased job opportunities and improved salaries.

This degree allows you to discover how to work with people, including yourself. Self-discovery is an integral part of a behavioral science curriculum. As an MACU student, you can learn to serve God more effectively, respond to people from a biblical perspective, advance in the market place, and enhance your awareness of yourself and others.

The behavioral science and ethics program is designed for you to:

  • Understand human development from birth, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and through the senior adult years
  • Gain insight into the development and influence of personality based upon current theories
  • Tap into the diverse theoretical approaches of counseling and psychotherapy by evaluating associated methods and techniques
  • Study how humans behave socially by exploring group dynamics relative to business, industry, public, and private life
  • Examine the origin, classification, and symptoms of neurotic and psychotic behavior
  • Gain understanding of people to help them develop problem management skills
  • Develop an ethical professional perspective based upon Judeo-Christian ethics
