Management Information Systems
Providing Solutions for Project and Business Management
In today's marketplace, technology affects every aspect of business life. Business today is about bits and bytes and debits and credits. To succeed, you've got to know how to employ the latest business trends with the most innovative technology.
MACU's Management Information Systems and Ethics degree is not just about computers – it blends project management, budget, and scheduling skills with technological solutions. Although the student will have an administrative understanding of the Windows environment, information technology managers rely more heavily on out-sourcing their nuts-and-bolts programming and networking to third-party providers in the United States or around the world.
Major national and regional employers tell MACU they need managers who know technological and business sectors inside and out. MACU delivers that for you.
The curriculum for the MISE program is reviewed and updated annually by an advisory council of information technology directors from major employers representing defense, software development, energy, health, as well as state and federal government entities.
Alumni of the MISE program are serving as computer systems administrators, computer systems analysts, senior help desk supervisors, database analysts, directors of technology, postal center supervisors, and senior information managers.
At Mid-America, the MISE has a project and business management emphasis. That's because the marketplace is seeking employees with this expertise.
According to these industry journals
“There is much more emphasis on the business domain and on project management skills than on technical skills.”
“CIOs are desperately seeking hires with project management expertise…”
“Employment of computer and information systems managers is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through the year 2014.”
