A Dynamic On Campus Experience
The MACU College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) offers a traditional on-campus student experience for recent high school graduates as well as more mature, daytime-commuting students.
Issues Based Curriculum
The centerpiece of Mid-America’s traditional undergraduate program is a dynamic Issues-Based Curriculum. This unique academic approach equips students with the skills required to understand and address the challenging issues of the day. We begin by exposing you to three of the most critical issues of our times—the scarcity of food, energy, and water. As an agricultural and energy state, Oklahoma provides a unique opportunity to explore vital issues such as these.
Naturally, these aren’t just local or state issues, however. That’s why we encourage students to take advantage of the MACU Study Abroad Programs where these issues take on global proportions—and are often matters of life and death. For example, for the past two years, MACU students have traveled to Uganda to work with the Water4 Project to dig wells in communities with no source of fresh water.
To our knowledge, Mid-America is the only university in the nation integrating an understanding of key issues across all undergraduate degree programs. We see this as the best way to create a generation of leaders prepared to make a world of difference—at home and abroad. And it will give every MACU graduate a distinct professional advantage in the marketplace of ideas.
