Meet Dr. Toler

Raised in a rural mountain community in the southern part of West Virginia, Stan Toler knew at an early age that he was going to live a life devoted to helping others. He zealously accepted the call and began to pastor Westside Church in Newark, Ohio at the age of seventeen.

He hasn't stopped since. Under Stan's leadership and with God's blessing, he has pastored churches in Ohio, Tennessee and Oklahoma. In addition to leading these churches, Stan has helped develop and implement growth plans in churches and missions organizations around the world. He is co-author, along with Alan Nelson, of the classic Five-Star Church. Stan also spent several years teaching seminars for Dr. John Maxwell's INJOY Group, a leadership development institute. He uses his years of accumulated knowledge and experience now as he conducts seminars and training sessions on strategic planning, stewardship, outreach, and leadership, in addition to spending. Stan is also the co-founder of BGW's Forward in Faith stewardship campaign program.

Today, Stan serves as senior pastor of Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a vital church serving an ethnically-diverse area of the City. In addition, he serves as the executive director of the Toler Leadership Center, located on the campus of Mid-American Christian University. The TLC offers graduate programs in leadership as well as a variety of seminars and institutes to train the leaders of the future.

Stan has authored more than 70 books and manuals on such subjects as church ministry, evangelism, and pastoral/church resources. In each book, he tackles his subject with both practical insight and witty enthusiasm, along with a genuine belief in and support of the ministry of the local church.

But Stan's greatest ministry is to his family: his lovely wife Linda, to whom he affectionately refers as his “South Georgia Peach,” and his two sons, Seth and Adam, with whom he shares a near-fanatic love of sports.
