Associate Professor: School of Business
Dr. Shelly Carbajal is a Full-Time Faculty member at Mid-America Christian University, where she teaches Accounting, Finance, and Economics. She brings more than 30 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, and leadership to the classroom, integrating real-world application with academic rigor.
A proud MACU alumna, Dr. Carbajal earned her bachelor’s degree from Mid-America Christian University more than 20 years ago. She holds a Master of Business in Finance from Oklahoma City University and a Doctor of Education in Higher Learning from Northcentral University. Her career spans senior-level roles in finance and accounting, including service as a Chief Financial Officer, where she oversaw complex budgets, strategic financial planning, compliance, and organizational leadership.
In addition to her extensive professional background and significant experience in higher education, Dr. Carbajal has served at MACU for over 15 years as an adjunct faculty member, with strengths in curriculum development, student mentorship, and applied learning. She is particularly passionate about preparing students for professional success by connecting theory to practice and fostering ethical decision-making grounded in Christian values.
Dr. Carbajal loves God, values family deeply, and is committed to student-centered teaching, academic excellence, and developing ethical leaders grounded in biblical principles, sound financial stewardship, and entrepreneurial excellence.
