Mid-America Christian University (MACU) has been approved by the Global Methodist Church (GMC) as an educational pathway for individuals in the United States pursuing ordination and ministry leadership preparation.
This approval expands MACU’s existing relationship with the GMC, which previously endorsed the University as a recommended educational institution for individuals pursuing ordination outside the United States and Western Europe. The new designation provides a domestic pathway for those seeking to complete educational requirements for ministry within the denomination.
The partnership reflects the strong theological alignment between MACU and the Global Methodist Church. Both are rooted in the Wesleyan tradition and share a commitment to the authority of Scripture, the Lordship of Christ, personal holiness, evangelism, discipleship, and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.
Founded in 2022, the Global Methodist Church continues the Wesleyan emphasis on scriptural holiness and disciple-making championed by John Wesley. MACU likewise embraces a Wesleyan perspective through its mission of preparing students to serve God and society through Christ-centered leadership and education.
As an endorsed agency of the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana), MACU has a long history of equipping pastors, ministry leaders, and Christian professionals for faithful service. This approval broadens opportunities for future leaders by providing access to academically rigorous, ministry-focused education that reflects the shared values of both institutions.
“We are deeply grateful for this official approval from the Global Methodist Church, which beautifully highlights our shared roots in the Wesleyan tradition and a mutual commitment to scriptural holiness,” said MACU President, Rev. Dr. Phil Greenwald. “At Mid-America Christian University, we are passionate about providing an academically rigorous and ministry-focused education that equips the next generation of Christian leaders. Together, we are preparing future pastors and ministry professionals to step boldly into their callings for the glory of God and the good of society.”
This partnership further advances MACU’s mission of preparing people to do greater things for God and His Kingdom while supporting the Global Methodist Church’s commitment to developing biblically grounded and spiritually mature leaders for ministry.
