Mid-America Christian University Appoints Dr. LeAnn Brown as Vice President of Academic Affairs

Mid-America Christian University (MACU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. LeAnn Brown as its new Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA).

Dr. Brown brings a distinguished background spanning higher education administration, organizational development, and faith-based community leadership to her new role. Most recently serving as Chair and Professor of the Thomas School of Global Leadership at MACU, she spearheaded the development of the Doctor of Strategic Leadership (DSL) program and managed key international partnerships. Her academic foundation includes various leadership and faculty roles such as Associate Professor of Management, Department Chair, and Director of the Management Development Center at Fort Hays State University, complemented by corporate leadership experience as Organizational Development Manager for Sunflower Electric Power Corporation and as co-founder of two nonprofit organizations. Dr. Brown holds a Ph.D. in Global Leadership from Indiana Institute of Technology, an M.S. from Portland State University, and a B.S. from Fort Hays State University, along with human resources credentials including SHRM-SCP and SPHR certifications.

“Dr. Brown brings an extraordinary combination of academic excellence, executive insight, and a deeply rooted commitment to faith-based leadership,” said MACU President Rev. Dr. Phil Greenwald. “Her extensive experience in expanding degree programs, nurturing strategic partnerships, and developing student-centered initiatives makes her uniquely qualified to guide MACU’s academic future.”

Deeply rooted in the Church of God movement throughout her life and ministry, Dr. Brown’s connection to MACU extends to her whole family. Her husband, Jerod, serves as pastor at Fresh Start Community Church, and they are proud MACU parents: both of their children, Caden and Morgan, are currently students at the University.

In her new executive role, Dr. Brown will oversee all academic operations, faculty development, curriculum quality, and strategic accreditation initiatives across MACU’s undergraduate, graduate, and online programs. She will also continue to champion the University’s mission by building innovative industry and international partnerships that expand student opportunities and elevate academic excellence across all disciplines.
