Business Students at MACU Set to Break Guinness World Record

Business students at Mid-America Christian University have raised more than $1,900 to purchase sleeping bags to break the Guinness World Record for the longest line of sleeping bags, which was set in India in 2016 with a total of 253 sleeping bags.

On April 22, MACU students will gather the sleeping bags on the university’s campus in south Oklahoma City to set the new Guinness World Record.

The sleeping bags will then be donated to metro shelters and non-profit organizations to distribute to Oklahomans in need.

The project was put together by business professor Coleman Patterson and is featured as a component in several of Patterson’s business classes this semester.

“This project gives students a real and worthwhile project to organize and execute,” Patterson said. “Knowing that it will culminate in a Guinness World Record and that the sleeping bags will go to people who are in difficult or desperate life circumstances is wonderful.”

Updates on the sleeping bag record breaking and donation project will be given on MACU’s social media accounts, including Facebook at www.facebook.com/MidAmericaChristianUniversity
