MACU Hosts Google Day to Launch Campus-Wide AI Engagement

Mid-America Christian University (MACU) will host Google Day on January 22, welcoming representatives from Google to campus for a full day of learning, collaboration, and hands-on exploration of artificial intelligence tools and resources.

Google Day marks a key moment in MACU’s expanded partnership with Google and introduces students, faculty, and staff to technologies such as Google Gemini and NotebookLM, as well as Grow with Google certifications. Throughout the day, attendees will engage in interactive sessions led by Google professionals alongside MACU IT, blending industry insight with the University’s mission-driven approach to innovation.

The event provides opportunities for the MACU community to connect directly with Google representatives, explore practical applications of AI in academic and professional settings, and gain a clearer understanding of how these tools can support learning, teaching, and workplace readiness.

Sessions are designed for students, faculty, and staff, with content tailored to each audience and an emphasis on responsible, ethical AI use. In addition to Google-led demonstrations and discussions, MACU staff will guide conversations around classroom integration, productivity, prompting best practices, and the University’s vision for AI on campus. Google Day concludes with a campus wide focus on AI guidelines and governance, reinforcing MACU’s commitment to innovation grounded in faith, integrity, and academic excellence.

By bringing Google leaders directly to campus and pairing their expertise with MACU’s internal leadership, Google Day reflects MACU’s dedication to preparing its community for a rapidly evolving digital future while remaining rooted in its Christian mission.
