Mid-America Christian University (MACU) will host its annual Black Youth Conference on Friday, February 13, welcoming students to campus for a day of inspiration, leadership development, and meaningful conversation centered on faith, identity, and purpose.
The 2026 conference continues MACU’s commitment to creating spaces where young leaders are encouraged, equipped, and empowered. The conference will feature a dynamic lineup of guest speakers representing education, entrepreneurship, wellness, and community advocacy.
Headlining this year’s conference is Brittany Driver, widely known as The Budget Boss and founder of Beyond a Budget, a financial education company focused on helping youth, families, working moms, and college students build confident, purpose-driven lives. As a financial educator, curriculum designer, and community advocate, Driver brings a powerful and relatable message rooted in real-world money skills, culturally relevant learning, and faith-based encouragement. Drawing from her own journey of working full-time while completing graduate school and navigating motherhood, Driver connects deeply with students as she challenges them to rethink their mindset, steward their finances wisely, and pursue long-term freedom with confidence. Her engaging teaching style blends humor, transparency, and practical tools that make financial literacy accessible and impactful for every age group.
Additional guest speakers include Crystal Heard, a community voice and advocate for diversity in the workplace; Stephanie Chaplin, a leader and mentor passionate about empowering the next generation; and Elvis Otumfuor, entrepreneur, personal trainer, and founder of Strength in Faith Wellness in Oklahoma City. Together, these speakers will offer students a wide range of perspectives on leadership, wellness, career development, and faith in action.
The Black Youth Conference is part of MACU’s ongoing effort to support and uplift students through intentional programming that reflects both academic excellence and spiritual formation.
By bringing experienced leaders and relatable voices to campus, the conference aims to inspire young people to recognize their value, develop their gifts, and step confidently into their future.
