Faculty Clinical Lead
Twila King is the Clinical Faculty Lead at Mid-America Christian University (MACU), where she brings a wealth of experience in nursing education, critical care, and leadership to the next generation of healthcare professionals. In this role, she is dedicated to mentoring students, advancing clinical partnerships, and strengthening the integration of academic learning with real-world nursing practice.
With more than a decade of experience across critical care, surgical nursing, and higher education, Twila has served in diverse roles, including Trauma ICU Registered Nurse at OU Medical Center, ICU contract nurse with FlexCare and Medical Staffing Network, and Operating Room Circulator at McBride Orthopedic Hospital. She has extensive experience caring for patients with complex needs such as sepsis, cardiovascular conditions, transplants, and neurological issues.
In academia, Twila has held faculty positions at Rose State College, most recently as Professor of Nursing and PNC IV Semester Coordinator, and as a Clinical Adjunct guiding senior nursing students through critical care placements at Integris Baptist Medical Center and Oklahoma Heart Hospital. Her teaching excellence has been recognized with nominations for the 2024 Oklahoma Medal for Excellence in Regional University/Community College Teaching and the 2022 Rose State College Excellence in Teaching Award.
Twila holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, both summa cum laude from Colorado Christian University, and an Associate in Applied Science in Nursing from Rose State College. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Forensic Nursing with an Investigative Certificate from DeSales University, with an expected graduation date of March 2026. She is also a member of professional organizations including Sigma Theta Tau, Alpha Sigma Lambda, and Phi Theta Kappa, and she actively serves her community through Life Church and the Edmond Community Meal Drive.
