THOMAS SCHOOL OF GLOBAL LEADERSHIP
Equipping Christ-Centered Leaders for a Global Impact
The Thomas School of Global Leadership (TSGL) at Mid-America Christian University represents the evolution of a rich legacy of Christian leadership training. Originally founded in 2005 as the Thomas School of International Studies, this initiative was established to equip Christian leaders to serve faithfully in congregational, community, national, and international arenas.
Over nearly two decades, the original program—spearheaded by the late Dr. Enrique Cepeda—inspired and empowered leaders through innovative tools like the Bethel Bible Study series, a bilingual Master’s in Leadership program, dynamic conferences, and global outreach efforts. Though the program was paused following Dr. Cepeda’s passing in 2023, its vision endures.
Under the leadership of President Phil Greenwald, MACU is proud to relaunch this transformative initiative in two distinct but interconnected pathways:
Thomas School of Global Leadership (TSGL)
TSGL will serve as MACU’s academic home for leadership development with a global and faith-driven focus. This academic division currently offers the Master of Arts in Leadership and is actively exploring the addition of undergraduate and doctoral programs in related fields. The school’s mission is to develop ethically grounded, globally aware, and spiritually mature leaders equipped to serve the Kingdom in diverse contexts.
Program Highlights:
- Master of Arts in Leadership
- Future undergraduate and doctoral degree options
- Curriculum rooted in Christian values and global perspectives
- Faculty and mentors with real-world ministry and leadership experience
Thomas International Partnerships (TIP)
Thomas International Partnerships (TIP) will function as a co-curricular initiative focused on cultivating strategic international relationships. TIP will promote:
- Global exchange and study-abroad opportunities
- International ministry and leadership training
- Collaboration with Church of God (Anderson) partners
- Engagement with broader Christian global leadership networks
Together, TSGL and TIP aim to elevate MACU’s commitment to preparing students who are called to lead, serve, and make an impact across cultures and nations.
