Tickets: MACU requires tickets for the 2021 Commencement Ceremony. All confirmed participating graduates have been allocated 8 tickets to distribute to family and friends. These digital tickets have been sent out to the graduates’ @my.macu.edu email address. Each ticket has a unique barcode tied to each graduate and may be scanned digitally or printed. Only guests with tickets will be admitted to the ceremony. Guests will present their tickets at the checkin tables outside of Exhibit Halls B and C. Each student will also find a printable name card in the ticket email. The ticket email will also include a name card which states the graduating students degree program. Graduates should bring this card with them to know where they should line up in Exhibit Hall A.

TICKET ALERT: Additional seats have come available for Commencement! After 9:00 a.m. any guest without a ticket may be admitted on a first come first serve basis as seats come available. Guests with tickets will have priority seating.

Children under the age of 5 will not require a ticket. If your child is old enough to require their own seat, they will need a ticket.

Graduates in need of accommodations related to areas such as mobility, hearing, language, or disability, are encouraged to contact the Registrar's Office prior to Commencement. This allows MACU to make the necessary arrangements to meet the needs of our graduates. Please reach out to them here: [email protected]

9:15 am - 9:55 am: Graduates will gather in Exhibit Hall A and will be grouped by Degree Program. MACU staff will begin lining up students during this time in preparation for the procession into the ceremony at 9:55 am.

9:55 am - Procession into the Ceremony: Students will be led into the ceremony by their Graduation Marshal. At this time, the only items Graduates should have in their possession is their Graduation Regalia and the personal Name Card to be presented as they cross the stage. Graduates may not carry personal items into the Ceremony. Please leave any personal items with your guests prior to lining up for the ceremony. You will not be allowed any personal items in your hands as you cross the stage.

Once you reach your seat in the sanctuary, remain standing until you are asked to be seated.

10:00 am - Ceremony Begins: When the time comes, the Graduation Marshal will direct the Graduates to stand and walk to the stage to receive your diploma cover and cross the stage. Once they leave the stage, Graduates will pause for a photo and will then be directed back to their seats. Once everyone receives their diploma, an official on stage will instruct everyone to move their tassels from right to left (Master students will already have their tassels in the left position before entering the sanctuary).

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the administration, faculty, and graduates will recess out of the Exhibit Hall under the direction of the Graduation Marshal.  Please DO NOT STOP TO VISIT until all graduates have recessed completely out of the hall.

The diploma covers will be empty.  The diplomas and final transcripts are available after a final degree audit is completed and all requirements for graduation are confirmed as satisfied.
If you have completed all your requirements, but have not yet received a diploma and need verification for employment, please contact the Registrar's office at [email protected] or (405) 692-3201 and we will be happy to provide documentation per your request.
