The MBA with a CPA Accounting Emphasis program prepares students for upper-level accounting positions through a curriculum centered around real-life situations and by utilizing government accounting software and audit software. To ensure that students are equipped for the realities of accounting, instructors emphasize the importance of students truly digesting the material instead of merely memorizing it to pass a test.
In addition to courses that focus on topics such as taxation, auditing and accounting information systems, the program offers two courses specifically designed to prepare students for the CPA certification exam.

Students need not have a bachelor’s degree in accounting in order to enter the MBA with an emphasis in CPA Accounting program. However, students without a bachelor’s degree in accounting must have taken the following prerequisite courses:

- ACCN 3933 Income Tax Accounting I
- ACCN 4443 Advanced Financial Accounting OR
- Equivalent ACCN 4633 Auditing
